"*RARE EARLY SIGNED,MARKED HENRY ALCOCK ERROR PIECE" Description
Very early Henry Alcock platter with makers mark and signed by John. The mark dates this piece to late the 1800's or early 1900's. Alcock's pieces are collectable on their own by many but this piece is special. Look closely at the photos of the applied pattern on the right side of the piece and also the lower edge in the 1st photo. There is a mistake in the pattern that causes it to not match up in one spot and in another it doesn't quite go to the outer edge as it does everywhere else. Unusual to find an error that made it past inspection and out to the public from more reputable makers such as Alcock. I believe this makes this a stand-out piece for Alcock collectors.
