Ian Waldron is using pigment and acrylic on duck canvas. He is a successful career artist who won the National Aboriginal Art Award (Darwin NT) for Best Painting in 1995 and continues to be represented in commissions, exhibitions, private collections and public art in prominent places.
Painting depicts Lawn Hill as in Lawn Hill Gorge in the FNQ Gulf Coutnry, out behind Cloncurry. Ian's work is often compared with that of Kimberley landscape artists like Rover Thomas and Queenie McKenzie but his unique style is born of the traditional homelands of the ......people in Far North Queensland.
